The 11th Half-Marathon is a major, high-profile running event, one of significant athletic, cultural as well as touristic importance.
The Municipality of Palaio Faliro, ever since the beginning, believed and supported this initiative, which, after 11 years, has already achieved its goals of extroversion and public recognition. It has become one of the most important sporting events in Greece, hosting thousands of athletes along with parallel activities, thus creating a unique experience for the participants.
Our municipality supports the on-going and consistent efforts of the organizers, the volunteers and the sponsors for a high-standard event, which so many athletes from Attica, as well as from all over Greece and abroad, wish to join.
I’m absolutely certain that this year’s event will be the most successful. I would also like to welcome all the parallel actions focusing in ecology, recycling and sustainable development, sending an awareness message for the environmental protection and promoting our efforts towards a responsible, useful and beneficial living.
It is with great pleasure that I welcome runners from more than 40 different countries, an actual proof that Palaio Faliro has enormous developmental possibilities, and really fulfills our city’s vision and goals for an extensive touristic growth.
Hoping that we will all become a part of this great sports and culture celebration on April 26, we invite you and your families to Palaio Faliro, to enjoy a special event, along our city’s beautiful coastline.
