Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.)

The 16th International Poseidon Ηalf Marathon race, the Parallel Races and Events will take place in Athens on April 27th, 2025.

Athletes and exercisers, Greek or any other nationality.
You can participate individually or as a team with your club, group, family or friends.

Registration is available online.
Complete the registration form for the race you want and pay the entry fee for the race.

You can pay by Credit or Debit Card (Visa, MasterCard).

The collection of the participation package will take place in a room at the Municipal Indoor Gymnasium of Paleon Faliro "Sofia Befon," (on Ioannou Avgeri Street, 200 meters after the battleship "Averof"). For more information, click "here."

All races will start and finish in and/or out the Cultural and Sports Centre of the Municipality of Paleo Faliro (SCMPF), in Flisvos Marina.

A) Time: 08:30 - Half Marathon 21.1 km and Quarter Marathon 10+ km.
Block 1 - Common start within the track of the Athletic Center and finishes inside it.
Block 2 - Common start within the track of the Athletic Center and finishes inside it.
Block 3 - Common start within the track of the Athletic Center and finishes inside it.
Block 4 - Common start within the track of the Athletic Center and finishes inside it.
Block 5 - Common start within the track of the Athletic Center and finishes inside it.
Block 6 - Common start within the track of the Athletic Center and finishes inside it.

B) Time: 11:00 - 5 km Road Race.
Block 1 - Start outside the Athletic Center, near the Battleship "Averof," and finishes inside the track of the Athletic Center.
Block 2 - Start outside the Athletic Center, near the Battleship "Averof," and finishes inside the track of the Athletic Center.
Block 3 - Start outside the Athletic Center, near the Battleship "Averof," and finishes inside the track of the Athletic Center.
Block 4 - Start outside the Athletic Center, near the Battleship "Averof," and finishes inside the track of the Athletic Center.

C) Time: 11:15 - Power Walking 5 km.
Block 1 - Start outside the Athletic Center, near the Battleship "Averof," immediately after the starts of the 5 km Road Race.
Block 2 - Start outside the Athletic Center, near the Battleship "Averof."

D) Time: 12:15 - Poseidon Athens Kids' 1 km Race.
Block 1 - Start outside the Athletic Center (near "Averof") and finishes inside the track of the Athletic Center.
Block 2 - Start outside the Athletic Center (near "Averof") and finishes inside the track of the Athletic Center.

E) Time: 12:15 - "ALMA" Association Charity Run 1 or 2 km (2 laps).
Start after the children's race outside the Athletic Center, near the Battleship "Averof," and finishes inside the track of the Athletic Center.

F) Entry to the starting or finishing area will not be permitted to runners who do not have their race number visible (for safety reasons).

There is a storage space in the sports center.
We will give you your items after you finish the race (by showing your race number).

Along the route there will be refreshment points with water, bananas, isotonic etc.

People with special needs can register through the association they belong to, in order to be accompanied and receive their support.
In any case, please contact our Organization.

The parent or legal guardian is responsible for deciding whether to run along with the child.
In any case, children under 7 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

A good night's sleep and a healthy runner's breakfast are important factors for a successful finish in the Poseidon Athens Half Marathon.

We cannot guarantee there will be pacers in the race course. This may be subject to factors such as circumstances or their health- as pacers are runners who can sustain injuries . 

You can wear headphones. Please keep the volume down so you can hear the runners, the volunteers and the staff for any instructions.

No, unfortunately you cannot participate in the races with a perambulator nor with your pet, because your child, your pet and the other runners may be in danger.

You will need to enter the same estimated finishing time with your friend.

Yes, the participant, at his own risk, can entrust a third party to receive his personal participation number by handing 2 photocopies to the Secretariat:
a) photocopy of the Organization's email with his participation number
b) a photocopy of the identity card or passport or the driver's license of the person who will come to collect his participation.

We recommend you to use Public Transport.
