samarites enThe Corp of Volunteers Samaritans, Rescuers and Lifeguards of Hellenic Red Cross, branch of Piraeus, was from the beginning the main assistant of First Aid, as it would be once again this year, for your running competition.  

It is one of the three uniformed Volunteer Corps of Hellenic Red Cross, along with Nursing and Volunteers of Social Welfare. It operates in 35 Regional Branches throughout Greece and counts about 4.500 as active First Aid Providers, Lifeguards, Doctors, Instructors and Special Partners volunteers. Today it is the largest and most active Volunteer Organization on First Aid, Rescue and Lifesaving in Greece and already expands its activity through transnational partnerships worldwide. It has the quality assurance certificate ISO 9001-2015 for the training of all Volunteers, but also of the main population.


The Volunteer Samaritans - Rescuers and Volunteer Lifeguards of the Hellenic Red Cross, work daily at local, national and international level, participating in numerous actions and missions of the Hellenic Red Cross, such as:

  • Activation and intervention on missions of Search And Rescue or Disaster Response
  • First aid coverage for all types of sports competitions and cultural events
  • Civil Education in basic knowledge of first aids


They cooperate with the General Secretariat for Civil Protection, the Fire Service, the National Center for Emergency Assistance, the Hellenic Police, the Port Authorities, the Armed Forces and other governmental services especially related to preparedness, response or recovery on emergency events.
