Hello young runners and artists!
The organizers of the Poseidon Athens Half Marathon invite you to participate in the Panhellenic Children’s Painting Competition.
The competition is addressed to children aged 4 to 14 years, in three age categories: 4–6, 7–9, and 10–14.
Everyone wins!
Every child who participates in the competition will receive a Certificate of Participation, because every effort and every creation deserves recognition.
Schools and art studios will receive Certificates of Participation, actively supporting the joy of expression and collective creativity.
The selected artworks will participate, from time to time, in one or more exhibitions.
How can you take part?
The Theme
The theme of the competition is:
“Running is play, it is joy! Running with our friends is even greater joy!”
Draw or paint scenes from your physical education class or images from a running race in which you have participated.
If you wish, draw yourselves, your friends, your mum, your dad, your grandmother or grandfather, your aunt, uncle, cousins, classmates, neighbors, or people you have seen running all together like one happy group.
Dimensions and Materials
The size of the artworks must not be smaller than A4 and not larger than A3.
For group artworks, the above dimensions do not apply.
The artwork must be painted on watercolor paper or painted on plain paper mounted on cardboard.
In group artworks, there must be at least 5 or more children participating.
The choice of materials and artistic technique is free.
INFORMATION & PROCEDURE FOR PARENTS AND GUARDIANS
Until when, how and where to send the children’s artworks
When your child completes the artwork, please fill in the online participation form for the Panhellenic Competition “here”.
Note: The online participation form must be completed by the parent or legal guardian in order for the artwork to participate in the competition and to be included later in an online exhibition or digital collection.
Download the printed participation form below, complete it, and send it in an envelope by post or submit it through the school or art studio, together with your child’s artwork.
Note: The completed PRINTED participation form must accompany the artwork, otherwise it will not be possible to match it with the online participation form that has already been submitted.
To avoid any possibility of mismatch between the artwork and the online participation form, it is recommended that you also write on the back of the artwork (on the cardboard) the following details:
First Name, Last Name, Title of the Artwork, School / Art Studio and Area.
In case of incomplete information, the artwork will not be included in the painting exhibition or in online collections/exhibitions.
The selection of artworks will take place in three age categories: 4–6, 7–9 and 10–14.
The artworks selected for the above age categories will participate, from time to time, in one or more children’s painting exhibitions.
The choice of materials and artistic technique is free.
A committee of visual artists will select the artworks that will be distinguished, and the winners will be determined by lottery.
The winners and participants will be announced on our website and will be informed electronically.
Participation Deadline: 31 March 2026, or earlier, upon completion of the first 1,000 submissions.
The collection of artworks from schools of the Municipality of Palaio Faliro will be carried out by the Parents’ Association of Palaio Faliro.
Maximum number of artworks per school: 25 artworks.

Please note that printed materials and all images created in connection with this children’s painting competition (including photographs, videos, interviews of participants on radio, television, print or digital media, copies of photographs, films, video recordings, etc.), using part of the creators’ personal data, may be published by the organizers without any claim for compensation.

All children participating in the painting competition are winners, not only for their participation, but also for their creativity, effort, and the joy they share in every step, every artwork, and every activity of the races.
