With momentum, smiles, and vibrant energy, the 16th Poseidon Half Marathon and its Other Races transformed Athens’ southern coastal zone into a grand international celebration of running on Sunday, April 27!
Of special note were the many international runners who chose to travel and take part in the #POSEIDONAHM, proudly representing 70 nationalities from 48 countries—most of them experiencing Greece and Greek hospitality for the very first time.
From the distant Caribbean to the shores of Flisvos, more than 6,000 hearts beat to the rhythm of the Poseidon Athnes Half Marathon and its accompanying races.
With the endless blue of the Saronic Gulf as our backdrop, we ran through some of the most scenic routes along the Athenian Riviera, while at the same time raising awareness about obesity and diabetes—two major global health challenges.
In parallel, we embraced culture, recycling, and sustainability, proving that sport can serve as a bridge toward a better, more inclusive world.
The tremendous success of the 16th International Poseidon Athens Half Marathon, its Other Races, and associated Events—with a new record in participation—could not have been achieved without the unwavering support of our Institutional Bodies, Sponsors, incredible Volunteers, and Partners, who have supported and embraced from the very beginning the first-ever Half Marathon historically organized in Athens.
We sincerely thank all of them for their kind words about the races and their warm appreciation of the heartfelt hospitality they received from all of us!
