🟦 General Info (For Everyone!)
👋 How can I become a volunteer?
It’s easy! Just visit our official website, go to the “Volunteers” section, read the terms of participation, and fill out the application form.
All you need is a positive attitude, a big smile, and a bit of energy!
👧 I’m a student, can I take part?
Absolutely! If you’re in middle school or high school, you can volunteer—either with your class, scout group, club, or even individually.
Just make sure you have parental consent or are accompanied by a guardian.
📍 Do I have to live in Athens?
No! You’re welcome to join us as long as you can be at the venue on race day. If you’re coming from outside Athens, you’ll need to arrange your own travel and accommodation.
🧠 Do I need special skills or experience?
Not at all! We’ll train you beforehand. All we ask for is your willingness to help and be part of the action.
🟦 Before Race Day
👯♀️ Can I be placed with my friends?
Yes! Just mention it in your application and use the same “group name.”
If you’re a group of more than 5 people, be sure everyone lists the same name to help us organize better.
📧 When will I know my volunteer role and location?
You’ll receive an email about 20 days before the race with your assignment, meeting point, time, and team leader details.
📚 Will there be training or orientation?
Yes, you'll receive:
- A general briefing (especially if it's your first time), and
- Role-specific instructions from your team leader or coordinator closer to the event.
📍 Can I request a specific role or location?
Yes, you can state a preference in your application, but we can’t guarantee it.
We’ll try our best to match your request, based on the race’s operational needs.
👟 What should I wear on race day?
Your official race t-shirt (we’ll provide it), your badge, and comfortable shoes. Be ready to move, smile, and support the team!
🟦 During the Event
🌧 What if it rains?
The race goes on rain or shine! Only in extreme weather will it be postponed.
So bring a rain jacket or cap just in case!
⏳ Do I need to stay until my shift ends?
Yes! Every volunteer plays a key role in their team.
Please stay until your assigned end time so that the team can run smoothly.
🕗 What are the shift hours?
Usually between 6:30–7:30 AM to 1:30–2:00 PM, depending on your assigned role and location.
🏃 Can I volunteer AND run in the race?
Unfortunately, no. The race and volunteering hours overlap.
🎒 Is there storage for personal belongings?
No designated storage is available, so bring only essential, small backpack, water, cap, etc.
👶 Can I bring my child with me?
For safety reasons, it’s not recommended to bring children under 10, as the venue will be crowded and busy.
🟦 After the Event
👕 What if I lose or damage my t-shirt? Can I get another?
No, each t-shirt is unique and personal to the registered volunteer. Please take good care of it.
📄 Will I get a certificate of participation?
Yes! If you were present and signed in on race day, you’ll receive your certificate online, usually within a week, on our website.
🎁 Do I return my badge and clothing?
Nope! They’re yours to keep as a souvenir, your reminder of an amazing day you helped make possible.
📩 I can’t participate after all, what should I do?
