Global Health Mission
The challenge aims to raise awareness about the importance of regular physical activity in preventing diabetes and obesity, two of the most pressing public health challenges worldwide.
By participating, you support a simple but powerful message:
Movement is Prevention.
The initiative is open and inclusive, welcoming and encouraging the participation of individuals living with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) and Type 2 Diabetes (T2D), with respect for their individual abilities and an emphasis on safe and responsible physical activity.
At the same time, it highlights the essential role of regular physical activity in both the prevention and effective management of diabetes, promoting a shared global message of health and well-being for all.
Who Can Participate
The Athens Poseidon Global Health Challenge is open to everyone.
You can participate if you are:
• a runner
• a walker
• a fitness enthusiast
• someone beginning their journey toward a healthier lifestyle
• part of a sports club, company, or community group
Participants may join from anywhere in the world.

Participation Recognition
All participants will receive a personal official digital Certificate of Participation (PDF) including:
• Participant name
• Distance completed
• Recorded time
• City
• Country
Participants also have the optional opportunity to share their activity and photo to appear on the Global Participant Map, celebrating their achievement worldwide.
How to Participate – 4 Simple Steps
Register: Fill in the online form with your name, email, city, country, and selected distance.
Move: Complete your chosen distance (21 km, 10 km, or 5 km) anytime, anywhere during 1–31 May 2026.
Submit Results & Photo (Optional): Share your time and upload a photo if you wish to appear on the Global Participant Map.
Receive Certificate (Optional): After submitting your activity, receive your personal digital Certificate of Participation (PDF).

Terms of Participation
Participation in the Athens Poseidon Global Health Challenge is voluntary.
By registering, participants confirm that they are in suitable physical condition to engage in physical activity and acknowledge that they participate entirely at their own risk.
Participants assume full responsibility for their health and safety throughout their participation.
The organizers accept no liability for any injury, accident, loss, or health-related issue that may arise before, during, or after participation in the initiative.
Participants are encouraged to take part responsibly and in accordance with their individual abilities and limitations.
Personal Data & Participant Visibility
The submission of a photograph and the provision of personal information (such as name, country, and optionally city) are entirely voluntary and are not required for participation.
Where a participant chooses to submit a photograph and/or provide such information, they expressly consent to the collection, processing, and use of this data for the purposes of the initiative.
Such information may be displayed on a global interactive map and/or across other digital platforms and communication channels related to the initiative, with the aim of showcasing participation and its international scope.
The manner and level of detail of such display (for example, country and/or city) may vary to ensure appropriate and effective visual representation.
All personal data will be used strictly for the purposes of this initiative and will not be used for any other purpose without prior, explicit consent.
Participants may choose not to provide such data and may withdraw their consent at any time by contacting the organizers, without affecting their participation in the initiative.
Participation in the Athens Poseidon Global Health Challenge is voluntary.
