Dear Runners,
First and foremost, at Poseidon Athens Half Marathon the health of our runners is of paramount importance.
In the light of the recent COVID-19 or, as It’s more widely known, coronavirus outbreak we announce that the 11th Poseidon Athens Half Marathon has been postponed.
Greek authorities have introduced a limit to number of participants attending mass events, a decision which is also applicable to us. At this point, we’d likely to thank the Greek authorities for their guidance during this challenging period.
We appreciate that this news may be disappointing to many runners. However, we have to do our part not only abiding by the current legislation but also contributing to the broader effort containing the spread of the COVID-19 (coronavirus).
We examined a series of alternatives but we wouldn’t be in a position to deliver the high quality standards of Poseidon Athens Half Marathon, which our runners are used to and they have come to expect. Planning and preparation of our event is an extremely complex process which takes a lot of preparation throughout the year.
Our focus is on the safety of our participants, volunteers and other partners. Because of this unforeseen event the race entries of 2020 will be transferred automatically to the 12th Poseidon Athens Half Marathon on the 25/04/2021 at no extra fee.
We'd like to thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time.
WE RUN STRONGER
